You're missing some important classics, you're list sucks.
Well, this being the internet and all, people often can not wrap the concept around their minds of "individual's favourite movies" and if they don't include all the staple classics then the list sucks. Sorry, but I made this site so I'll put up Ghost Rider if I feel like it (but thankful I don't).
But also, I am missing some classics unfortuantely because I just haven't got around to seeing them (probably too busy watching crap like Ghost Rider, ugh). Other classics I've seen but haven't seen in a while and to be fair to everyone else I really should rewatch them before adding them blindly thinking "well the parts I remember are good". So, yeah.
Why is your list weird? What are the "tiers"?
I consider listing films in a strict order of 1, 2, 3 to be ridiculous. It's impossible to pick a favourite film or even directly list movies like "Knocked Up" next to "The Godfather", so tiers allow me to organize films in groups of 25 making it more flexible where to place films in rankings with other groups. This way I don't have to spell out a certain favourite, but instead let you pick from my 25. No my favourite movie is NOT Sin City, it's merely in a section of movies that I enjoy about as much as Sin City. Get it?
There are a lot of mistakes in your writing.
I self-edit and use spell-check so I only fix things if I notice them. Sorry, it's the internet not Rolling Stone. However, if you want to be a good person and e-mail me (address to the right) I'll gladly edit it... at my own pace.
What is this site for?
I was bored and decided to brush up on some web coding, mainly used to help me become more familiar with JavaScript, the site acts as a testing ground for new things I learn or acquire. It's helpful since this is what I do in school and I thought why not make it a site dedicated to my favourite films? Through this site, I have practised skills learned in school, as well as teach myself elements of CSS, Javascript, and PHP that I would not have learned otherwise.
Why does your site look so ugly?
Chances are you either don't have JavaScript enabled or aren't using Firefox. You can view the site in other web browsers besides Firefox, however it is the one I tested the site on and am most comfortable with. I also tried it out a bit in Safari, so it should run fine in that. As for you people using Internet Explorer or Opera... get a better browser.

Your monitor may also view the colours differently, making them look really weird, who knows. This site is pretty selfish, I honestly didn't go to extensive lengths to compensate for people with crappy computers, sorry.

Either that's what's wrong with the site or you're just being a jerk.
Why are a lot of the movie images just pictures of eyes?
You may have noticed numerous of the films with write-ups just have pictures of eyes, rather than images showcasing the film. I used eyes because eye-shots are always interesting, usually used by filmmakers to let the audience to get intimately close to the character, eyes are regarded as the "windows to the soul" and being forced to stare directly into one is a good way to connect to the audience. Films that use these shots get the special reward of having that image featured here, for the most part.
Even in cases where there is no subtext to the eye close-up, it is a consistently nice looking shot that's more original and interesting than just showing an image of "Spider-Man". Because we all know what he looks like, so instead, why not a shot of an eye with sharp glass in the reflection?
Did anyone actually ask this question? No. But I thought I'd share it with you anyways.
